History: The Montefusco friary belonged to the Capuchin province of Naples, built during the provincialate of Fr. Francesco of Caiazzo. The church was consecrated on 4 October 1683. In 1867, the friary was suppressed because of the anti-religious policies of the Italian government.
After many escapades, this friary was donated on 5 November 1900, to the Capuchin province of Foggia, to the Provincial Minister, Fr. Pio of Benevento. It was the house of studies for theology (Padre Pio of Pietrelcina in 1905 was a theology student here), and it was also the junior and senior High school. It belongs to the archdiocese of Benevento.
