THE PETITION
Mons. Vincenzo D’Addario, Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste, accompanied by the Postulator, approaches the throne of the Holy Father and requests the Beatification of the Servant of God Pio of Pietrelcina: Most Blessed Father, the Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste humbly asks Your Holiness to number the Venerable Servant of God Pio of Pietrelcina among the Blessed.
THE FORMULA
Acceding to the wishes of Our Brother Vincenzo D’Addario, Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste, and many other Brothers in the Bishopric and many of the faithful, having heard the opinion of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, with Our Apostolic Authority We do hereby grant that the Venerable Servant of God Pio of Pietrelcina henceforth be called Blessed and that his name may be celebrated every year, in the places and according to the rules laid down by law, on the day of his birth in heaven, September 23rd. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
